9.3 and Strong Hold
As most know we have had a hell of a time getting a full 6-7 players online for stronghold. In 9.3 however they will now allow up to 5 players not in the clan to join. This could help us out.

Playing 9.3 test
Most of you working on 8-10 tiers and buying, may want to hold off. There are going to be some nice 5-8 tanks coming out in this update. I was playing the new light U S tanks and they are some real threats. In 1 tank the T-49 Bulldog, I was behind enemy lines before I knew it. Moving at over 70 I caught the enemy not even moving off base when I showed up. I shot the art, td, and hvy, and still took 3 hits before I got it. This tank is a danger when 3 or more are on the field. They run in wolf packs, and can do some heavy damage. The USSR got some changes coming too. KV-1S moves down to a tier 5 tank now. Germans get a high speed light with a big gun. Will keep testing and let you know. Remember the test sever is open to all to test out the new tanks.

Why bother with Team Training
In this mode, you can make your own room and select the map you wish to
play. Then, decide if you want the game to be open to the public, or use
the "invite" feature to play only with friends. After the player has
responded and joined, drag their name to the appropriate team and start
your Battle. Many players use this mode for experiments with various
tank mechanics, learning new maps, strategic planning and movement, and
the teaching of those new to the game in 1 vs 1 matches. You will not
gain any experience points or credits in this mode and your vehicle
repairs are free, but you will still need to pay for expended shells and
equipment (consumables used).
A better understanding of Strongholds
In release 9.2 Strongholds was added to World of Tanks. Strongholds
is a game mode available to clans and limited to members of the same
clan. Strongholds enables clans to build structures using the
"Industrial Resource". In release 9.2 structures built in strongholds
can be leveled up from 1 to 4 and will each provide a different benefit
to the clan. In future releases structures will be able to reach level
10. The type of structure will determine the benefit to the clan and
the level of the structure will determine the amount of that benefit.
Strongholds is planned to have 3 battle modes however the introduction of Strongholds in 9.2 consists of only the Skirmish mode. Similar to Tank Companies, clans that wish to participate in skirmishes will select a level of a skirmish battle (Medium, Champion, or Absolute). Medium will include tiers 1-6, Champion will include tiers 1-8, and Absolute will allow all tiers from 1-10.
Clans will form up a detatchment of up to 7 tanks for Medium, 10 tanks for Champion, and 15 tanks for Absolutes. Once formed the leader of the detatchment will enter a battle queue. They will fight a randomly matched team from that queue. Currently there is no matchmaking component.
Each Skirmish battle will provide your clan with the Strongholds currency, known as "Industrial Resource". When you build up this resource, clans can develop "Reserves", which are basically boosts to your earnings in all types of battles (including random battles). Industrial Resource also allows you to level up your structures, which makes your Reserves give you bigger boosts. You can use the Reserves whenever your clan decides will be most beneficial to you. To see a full list of the Reserves that are available, see this page (about 2/3 of the way down). Only one reserve can be used at a time and once triggered the benefit will last 2 hours.
The following is a list of how clan roles apply to Strongholds:
Here is a list of Structures and the bonuses they can provide.
In a future release Strongholds will be able to reach levels 5-10 and will open the Attack and Defense battle options in the Strongholds game mode. If a Stronghold is upgraded to level 5 other clans will be able to utilize the Attack battle option to target the Stronghold. The clan owning the Stronghold will have a preset Stronghold defense time window and will need to defend it from attack during that window. The effects a successful raid or a failed defense is still being determined.

Why Play StrongHold
You must understand some things about strong hold. 1st if you play as a clan there are bonuses to be had. 2nd the more you play and the clan earned in resources the more bonuses you earn. This can push you up faster in crew training, credits for a new tank, an so on. So yes at present we lose a lot of rounds. However you are still gaining the bonus factor to your tanks and crew. I ask myself, how is it we can play in platoons and win most battles with only 3 together? Yet as 4 platoons working as 1 we fail each time! 1 idea is to go to a training battle, and break up in to 4 teams of 3 and go after each other. then breakup in to 2 teams and see what happens. Another is we force ourselves to use comms. Still this does not solve a lot of play issues. We have the tanks, we have the skills, we just don't have the play down. I invites all members to come up with ideas a place your comments here so we can come up with a plan of action for the whole group.
Good Luck and Good Hunting.

Just WOW what happened last weekend?
Last weekend, we finally got enough people to play some StrongHold battles for the clan to collect some resources we need. We did not make it though 2 battles, before clan members bailed out because we were losing an it was costing them money to pay. I really had to work to get members back in the game. What was even more surprising was that even Den_Peter joined just to help out. I know why he spends more time playing alone than with others in the game. On to a lighter note. The first person in the clan to comment on this post will win a Premier account. Good for 3 days starting at 8pm on the 12th of this month. I.E. next weekend. I have found a way to make a temp team speak 3 comms for us to test out before committing to a full time channel. Hope to try out this weekend. How many clan members have Team speak 3?

Gold yes 1000
To the one who able to establish a Team Speak 3 channel for us. To use daily when playing. Must be free and cover up to 10 members.
An the Winner is?
thebossman, has won a 3 day premiere account, for being able to recall the name of this blog, before other fellow members were able to.
Returning to Base
“Always return to base”
This saying
95% of the time will hold true. If you see a flank failing or enemy
tanks already closing in on your flag then most likely you should head
back! It makes no sense to continue pushing on if the enemy is already
in a position to start capturing your flag or over run your flank and
then flank you from behind. You don’t have to turn directly around and
head back, but instead of continuing forward simply pick a route that
leads you back to help. Whether it is the way you came or the path the
enemy tore through it will make a difference. Your selfish teammates sitting on the enemy cap congratulating you as you reset or your SPG/failing flank who you save thanking you is your reward.
The only situation that I would not head back is if
you absolutely know you and your team can out cap them without a draw
which would mean you have 3 tanks on their flag and they only have 1 on
yours. Even then heading back is still a viable option!
On Track to Strongholds
Recently unveiled in Update 9.2,
Strongholds is a new game mode where Clans battle for supremacy.
Strongholds can be created by Clan Commanders and consist of a virtual
military base, surrounding zones and structures that add economic
bonuses for all battle types. This mode is free to play and allows
Clan members to earn bonuses -- similar to having a Premium account,
only without having to spend Gold.
You can be On Track towards a Stronghold
near you with Credit discounts on every Regular tier III-VI vehicle and a
variety of rewards for completing the Stronghold missions. Remember,
playing Strongholds can earn various boosts including additional XP and
Credits to name a few, so don't be afraid to try it out!
Start Date: Monday, September 1, 04:00 PDT ( 07:00 EDT / 11:00 UTC )
End Date: Wednesday, September 17, 04:00 PDT ( 07:00 EDT / 11:00 UTC )

Critical Hits Can Be Your Friend (Sometimes)
Critical hits are
a feature of the game you wish that would not happen for your tank but
on the other hand happen to every tank you are shooting at! Learning
weak spots helps with doing damage to the HP of a tank, but going even
further you can learn the basic areas for knocking out modules to
improve your chance of survival in specific situations. Knowing that
shooting someone’s gun(aim for part closest to turret or shoot the hole
that the gun comes out of) has a good chance of either damaging it
effecting accuracy or even knocking it out for quite sometime can be the
difference in living or being torn to shreds. As a low tier tank
facing a higher tier this is sometimes your only option to survive since
it will buy you time to scurry away.
Learning to
shoot the tracks is also very important. It might not always do HP
damage but it does immobilize that enemy allowing your artillery and
support to focus in on them to dispatch of them easily. Knowing that
for most tanks shooting the rear of the tank does engine/fuel damage
that catches them on fire and also slows them down is
very important. Instead of shooting the front half of their tank if you
are on their side, aim for the rear section in the engine area. For
German tanks you can usually shoot through the frontal lower hull as
well and do engine damage as the transmission is on the front of the
tank on most German tanks. Smaller things like sights, turret ring,
radio aren’t as reliable or easy to damage reliably but learning to use
the gun, tracks, and engine/fuel tanks more often helps more than you
would imagine.
Doesn’t
having your driver or loader die really suck? I thought so especially if
you already used that med kit. Learning the crew locations of the
tanks you face the most is easier than you would think. This website
has models for essentially all World of Tanks tanks that show module and
crew locations.
Keep in
mind that doing module damage can help you out but also hurt you if you
need to do HP damage. Knowing when to go for a module hit is important
since it can come back to bite you.
People that are AFK
This weekend could of been a great one. Our clan had the members showing ready for battle in Stronghold. Just too bad, no one was at their computers to play. Too many as of late are logging on, but are not there to play. I ask the group please just disconnect from the server when you are away.
